The Heli Lounge Kuala Lumpur is easily one of the best places to have a drink in this amazing city! When you combine enjoying a delicious cocktail or beer on a helipad, a beautiful sunset, and a stunning city view – The Heli Lounge simply can not be beaten. I’ll never forget my first time up there, and think it’s definitely one of my favorite things to do while in Kuala Lumpur.
I’m always looking for a great place to grab a drink in new cities, and there are very few things I enjoy more than watching a quality sunset, from a great location, with a drink in my hand. Now typically when I’m traveling in Malaysia, I’m sipping on coconuts on tropical islands like Langkawi or the Perhentian Islands, but when I’m in Kuala Lumpur there’s simply no better place than the Heli Lounge.
Normally my travels brings me to exotic beaches where I’m sippin on a coconut while jamming to deep house. But at the HELI Lounge Kuala Lumpur, this is not the case.
The Heli Lounge Bar is a pretty basic concept — let’s turn this old Helipad into a bar. If that doesn’t already make you want to experience it for yourself, then just keep reading, because I’ll do my best to change that with some amazing photos.
Visiting Kuala Lumpur?
My top recommendation for everyone making a trip to Malaysia is to sign-up for AirBNB, and stay at the REGALIA CONDOMINIUM. I used to live there, and it’s by the best place to stay in Kuala Lumpur. If you sign-up with this link, you’ll get $37 off your first stay (which is almost equivalent to a one-night stay).
Getting There
The Heli Lounge is located inside the Menara KH building, right outside the Raja Chulan sky tram line. It’s simple, just get to that metro stop, and head inside the building over to the elevators. It’s also easily recognized as the building of INTI University. The Helilounge is located on the 34th floor.
You’ll begin the ascend up to the bar, proceed through security, and you will have entered the lounge area.
If you plan on going there for the sunset (recommended), there is not a dress code. if you go there after 9 P.M…dress code is strictly enforced. Shoes and a decent shirt genteleman. To the ladies, just look good and you’ll be fine.
The Experience
The Heli Lounge Menu
- There is a wide variety of cocktails which all cost 30 MYR.
- You can order a large beer for 30 MYR.
- If you don’t drink alcohol, there are fruit juices available for 25 MYR
At first glance, you might think that the drinks are expensive.
Just remember — You’re about to enjoy this drink on the 34th floor on a helipad.
As well, you’re in Malaysia. Drinks in this country tend to be more expensive than other parts of South-East Asia.
Once you have ordered, received, and paid for your drinks; you’ll then be given access to the actual helipad.
The Heli Lounge Sunset.
I would strongly recommend getting to the Helipad KL for the sunset. The weather in Kuala Lumpur does not always permit you to experience this, but if you have the choice, than definitely plan to go around 6-7 P.M depending on the month of the year.
I’d recommend getting to the Heli Lounge for Sunset for 3 reasons
- Watching the sunset from a helipad is an incredible experience.
- You’ll definitely get a good seat on the outer edge of the
- If you chill and enjoy dinner + drinks, you’ll get to see the city at day and all lit up at night.
Where To Next- (Nightlife in Kuala Lumpur)
Kuala Lumpur has some pretty amazing nightlife, and I’d definitely recommend heading over to Jalan Bukit Bintang. Some fun ideas:
- Dinner at Jalan Alor
- Mojitos at Bar 51
- Dancing at Havana
If you are heading out one of the many clubs in Kuala Lumpur, I’d definitely recommend checking out ZOUK, which was just remodeled!
THANKS FOR READING!
