Any such home that offers a grand piano is a winner in my book. Add marble floors in the dining room, a fantastic baroque-esque classical dining room table and chairs set, and sunny living space, and it’s hard to argue against.
Soak in the jacuzzi in the master bathroom with heated floors. The hardwood floors and a deck overlooking the course is just a cherry on the cake—luxury upon luxury.

This is a prestigious property. It won the 2015 Restore Omaha award for Best Residential Restoration. As such, everything here seems made for a magazine. It’s a historic home, and the refurbishment has taken the best of the old and combined it with the finest of the new.
For example, the kitchen shows off a big old exposed brick room of old, with top of the line modern appliances and granite countertops. Aside from the four bedrooms, guests can enjoy a yoga room, a foyer, a gorgeous dark wood porch and seating, and a landscaped garden out back. There’s an optional hot tub to enjoy, too.
I do love the hardwood floors throughout, and a fireplace as you enter creates a “warming room” – something you don’t see all that often anymore.

Nearby Carter Lake offers a few gems of its own, even if it’s slightly outside the downtown area. But the added extras of fishing, use of a canoe, and regular lakeside activities should put this one on the list.
The outdoor patio is worth making special mention of here, overlooking the calm waters – the significant table makes a good case for eating a sunset meal under the beautiful pink sky! Afterwards, counter the cold with a hot beverage around the firepit.
There’s a cool additional study/room with a foosball table to challenge for the youthful among you. And the adults can keep in shape with the fitness equipment on-site, too. Not sure why you’d want to exercise, though… you’re on holiday! Be sure to take advantage of the outdoor bar and kitchen instead.
